NSW: Police fighting gun crime are up to the task - Carr
New South Wales Premier BOB CARR says police fighting gang-related crime in south west
Sydney are up to the task, but it remains a difficult challenge.
Eighty uniformed officers are attached to taskforce Gain, set up last month to rid
Sydney's south west of gun-toting gangs.
Mr CARR says the people of NSW can have confidence in police.
There were two incidents yesterday involving handguns, including one where shots were
fired at police officers who'd pulled a man over for speeding.
Mr CARR'S told ABC Radio that police have full support in their battle against such people.
